Now we’re offering the millions of annual visitors to Las Vegas the chance to rent a classic American car for a day, a week or even longer. Take a day trip to the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, or spend a couple days traveling one of the most beautiful and well-preserved portions of the Historic Route 66 from Needles, California to Seligman, Arizona, through the 90 mile stretch from Kingman. Arizona to Seligman by-passed by Interstate 40 and made famous in the Disney Movie Cars. Planning a trip to Grand Canyon? Take a three-day classic car road trip from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon and spend two nights in the charming little Route 66 town of Williams, Arizona just an hour from the canyon’s south rim. Watch western gun-fight reenactments in the street, shop, dine, have a cold beverage and soak up the local hospitality. For a real treat, travel to the south rim on the Historic Grand Canyon Railway. Or just hire a classic American car as your local transportation while you visit the world’s entertainment capital - Las Vegas.

The teenagers will shout “sick ride” and the 50-somethings will reminisce about their first car. The capstone of your Blacktop Candy’s road trip is driving one of our meticulously restored and methodically cared for vintage automobiles.
Two Adult Passengers
The price of our classic car hire is for two adults. Unfortunately we cannot allow children or pets. We love both!! But our vehicles are all two-door roadsters or coupes, and though they may have a back seat, they were never designed for prolonged back seat use. The passengers would be uncomfortable and the wear on the cars would be substantial.
Loss Collision Damage Waiver
A loss collision damage waiver means you are not financially responsible for theft or damage to the classic car as long as the damage is not caused by a prohibited use. There is a $1000 refundable damage deposit due upon arrival and a driving record check is required.
GPS Navigation System
Your vehicle will be equipped with a Garmin Zumo GPS navigation system with Route 66 turn-by-turn directions and attractions. Route 66 is a patch-work of U.S. and state roads, so trying to follow a traditional map would be difficult at best. We’ve tested the Garmin Zumo on the entire route and it has never led us astray. Plus, we’ve loaded the Garmin with tons of the best music from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s to make your travels even more enjoyable.

When you rent a Blacktop Candy's classic car for your road trip there are no rigid schedules to follow. We give you the freedom to travel at your own pace and see exactly what you want to see. 15 Nights of premier, historic, Route 66 accommodations including two (2) nights in Chicago, two (2) nights in Santa Monica, two (2) nights in Williams, AZ for a side-trip to the Grand Canyon, and either two (2) night side trip to Las Vegas or Monument Valley.

The remaining vehicles are two-door coupes and though there may be a back seat, they were never designed for prolonged back seat use. The passengers would be uncomfortable and the wear on the cars would be substantial. No smoking and no pets.
Loss Collision Damage Waiver
A loss collision damage waiver means you are not financially responsible for theft or damage to the classic car above $1000 USD as long as the damage is not caused by a prohibited use. There is a $1000 refundable damage deposit. 25+ year-old licensed drivers only. $1000 deposit is placed as credit card hold.
GPS Navigation System
Your vehicle will be equipped with a Garmin GPS navigation system. Many parts of the Nevada and Arizona dessert are isolated and 3G/4G data connection for mobile phone GPS operation can be sketchy. With the Garmin and SatNav communication you'll always have accurate directions close at hand.

One-Way Car Rental
One-Way rental is available from Los Angels to Las Vegas or Las Vegas to Las Angeles. A three-day minimum rental is required. Pick up and drop off in Los Angeles is in Santa Monica.
- Tours are structured for 2 adults. Unfortunately, for various reasons, we cannot accommodate children on most car hires (1955 Chevrolet Bel Air and 1957 Chevrolet 150 are the exception - 2 children allowed) and no pets. Learn More
- Drivers must be at least 25 years old, and a driving record history must be provided before departure.
- Bookings can be either made online or by calling us. Car hires > $1000 require a 10% (of the total car hire cost) credit card deposit. Tours < $1000 are paid in full at time of booking.
- Classic Car Hire Trips must be booked not less than seven (7) days prior to the scheduled departure date.
- Payment in full (in certified US dollars) is required seventy-five (75) days prior to arrival. In the event of shorter reservation periods, payment in full is due within five (5) days of booking. Payment may be made by certified bank check or by wire transfer to our account.
- A fully-refundable $1,000 USD damage deposit is taken when you arrive, and refunded after your classic car hire. The Western NC Road Trip deposit is $500. This can be done easily with a credit card.
